Different engines operate at different frequencies, even the same vehicle platform with the same OEM style engine can display different operating frequency ranges from build to build. This is because things as simple as changing the exhaust system or motor mounts can change these frequency ranges.
.
Proper knock control requires accurate knock detection. The knock control system utilized must be flexible enough to allow tuning of these associated detection parameters, and the parameters should be based on properly gathered frequency analysis from real world testing on the actual vehicle / engine combination.

MoTeC ECUs provide us the tools we need to do this correctly... and it’s just one of the many reasons why it’s the only ECU we choose to work with and offer.

The Fischer Motorsports family is deeply saddened by the recent loss of a colleague, industry leader, good friend, and great man, Taylor Sims of Dallas Performance.

Taylor was hands down, one of the best men I have been blessed to know. Our paths first crossed through MoTeC Lamborghini projects, and knowing the industry / business hurdles well along with our discussions, I was always incredibly impressed with his fortitude and drive in business. The loss of his tremendous technical capability, professional passion, determination, and drive, are all swallowed by the loss of the person that he was. I am grateful for the interactions we have had and wish there had been more.

Taylor’s loss is a tremendous loss to all that knew him, and all that would have known him. Our heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to Taylor’s family, the Dallas Performance family, and his friends. Though we rejoice in the positive of our and everyone else’s interactions with Taylor, it is still very sad news and a pounding reminder of the frailty and uncertainty of life. Love your family, love your friends, and take nothing for granted.

Among several things being tested was our new gear position sensor. The Caddy utilizes our custom MoTeC M1 package with integrated paddle and bump stick gear box control... in automatic mode, we had issues with the currently available gear position sensors. Vibration, noise, thermal drift, voltage crossing back through 0v when moving between gears, etc., was messing with our shifting consistency. Our new gear position sensor assembly utilizes a contactless inductive sensor that is fully programmable. Works great! Track video coming :)

These 5 axis CNC`d beauties are the nicest solution on the market for the Ford GT Supercar. They can be run in a dead head or regulator return configuration. Any color option can be implemented... These are a hand brushed machine finish, lightly etched to maintain sheen, and hard black anodized. They utilize a stock fuel pressure sensor and FM red/black AN-LOKs by @PhenixIndustries. Typically spotted with 16 @injectordynamics injectors :)

MODELING*ANALYSIS*DESIGN*FABRICATION*WIRING by FM

FM MoTeC engine management and data system for the 2005-2006 Ford GT Supercar. FM custom M1 software package integrating MoTeC M150, C127, PDM15, E816, EGT8, Lambda Modules, and M&W Pro Drag, dual stage, CDI ignition. Precise control over fuel and ignition while adding race grade launch control, traction control, boost control, cruise control, upstream injection, nitrous, flex fuel, conversion to DBW, anti-lag, rolling anti-lag, etc...

All systems were designed in house, all professional wiring documents created in house, and all harnesses were constructed in house by FM. All wire is mil-spec Tefzel, that is custom color coded and or numbered to our specifications, is concentrically twisted for strain relief and flexibility, and covered with DR-25 for chemical and abrasion resistance. All connectors or joints utilize service loops, Kapton tape, hermetic adhesive and glue shrink for strain relief and protection from environmental elements.
